The Vessel
“Tall Tailz” is a 36′ Osmond Beal built H and H Downeast style charter boat. It has a wide beam of nearly 13 ft, a fully enclosed cabin, toilet and bunks to sleep four people. The 36′ H and H is a large, stable platform perfect for any sea condition. With a 17 kt cruise and 24 kt max speed you can expect to get to the grounds quickly, safely and comfortably. “Tall Tailz” is a US Coast Guard documented vessel, equipped with all the essential safety and distress signaling equipment. The boat is fully outfitted with top of the line HUMMINBIRD electronics; radar, chart plotters, sounders and auto pilot. “Tall Tailz” can accommodate up to six passengers.
The Captain
Captain Connor MacLeod is a USCG licensed captain with a 100 ton masters near coastal, radar observer, AB unlimited, STCW, CPR/first aid and advanced fire fighting certifications. He has been fishing Newport RI and Narragansett Bay for over 25 years and has been featured in ‘On the Water’ and ‘The Fisherman’ magazines. Captain Connor ensures the safety of his customers, which is always his number one priority. Laughing, smiling and creating memories are number two!
The Crew
Meet Tugger, the official first mate aboard F/V Tall Tailz. He is a very good boy that loves being on the water and helping out. His other jobs on board include seagull defense and safety coordinator, emotional support officer and general morale booster. He prefers being tipped in dog treats and belly rubs in lieu of cash. Tugger comes on every trip with Captain Connor. If you’d rather not have Tugger on board for your trip, please let us know prior! While Captain Connor typically doesn’t bring any human mates, he is always willing to if you or someone in your party needs a little extra help. Just let us know!
